Body Damage Estimator

The Body Damage Estimator is primarily responsible for body damage estimation management, quality checks for body repair, as well as conducting inspections of repurchase vehicles to detect damage, missing parts and mechanical problems; and for reviewing and disputing repairs/replacement cost estimates and vehicle condition reports. He/she will work closely with auditors and turn back managers for buy backs.


What you’ll do to be sixt-cessful:

  • Write body damage estimates on Sixt vehicles utilizing industry standard estimating software and upload estimates and pictures to Document Management System for claims subrogation
  • Assist as needed with claims subrogation
  • Ensure estimates are approved by General Estimator prior to vending vehicles
  • Participate in regular calibration meetings to discuss general estimation, estimate accuracy and company estimation compliance
  • Prepare total loss/salvage packages utilizing the Sixt Salvage Matrix
  • Perform Quality Checks on repaired vehicles to ensure quality of work.
  • Review assessment of vehicle condition upon receipt noting and disputing any damage or repair required for frame, paint, engine, AC/heater operation, radio, navigation system, tires, etc.
  • Prepare support documentation related to vehicle condition including vehicle identification data, condition description; repair costs estimates, photographs, etc
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable labor rates, parts charges, manufacturer's guidelines and updates; adhere to work instructions/procedures regarding inspections/documentation
  • Conduct walk around inspections with the proper auction representative to verify accuracy of the condition report
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need:

  • Fleet operations and auction experience required, preferably within in the rental car industry
  • 1-2 years of estimating experience
  • Working knowledge of current makes and models
  • Experience using the CCC Collision Damage Estimating System or similar product for easy adaptation
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including day and/or evening hours
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
