Director of Sales UK

We are looking for an energetic and high-performing Sales Director. The primary function of this role is to accelerate the growth of sales in the UK. Working closely with the Director of International Sales and Head of Marketing, the role will be responsible for planning and executing commercial, sales and marketing strategies with ultimate accountability for hitting UK revenue growth targets in a profitable way. The broad remit spans business strategy and planning, commercial management, building brand awareness and preference, business development / sales and customer satisfaction. This includes penetrating new segments of the market and helping shape the product and proposition accordingly. The Director of Sales will play a pivotal role as a member of the senior leadership team within the UK and ensure that UK supports the overall delivery of SIXT’s international strategy.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Set and deliver the Sales strategy for the business. Help identify, develop, and evaluate the agreed sales strategy (price, product positioning, marketing and sales).
  • Provide regular accurate forecasting and revenue reporting.
  • Manage and lead the UK marketing, sales and commercial teams and work with HQ teams to: - Identify under-penetrated or new business segments or opportunities, prioritise where to focus, plan how to target them and execute the plans. o Clearly define and target business partners and opportunities with greatest potential. - Working in collaboration with Head of International Sales, develop strong sales plans for key accounts. - Work with Head of Marketing to develop strong marketing plans to build brand awareness. - Lead commercial development, driving incremental sales and customer experience.
  • Have a real understanding of UK competition, the market characteristics and costs of the products and services
  • Negotiate and structure long-term agreements with stakeholders.
  • Design the sales plans in line with the Global business plan.
  • Understand and use data and insights to build a sales story that is compelling for stakeholders and saleable opportunities for market.
  • Nurture opportunities and cultivate meaningful relationships with stakeholders to gain deep insight into their business and marketing objectives.
  • Initiates market research studies to identify potential markets for products and services.
  • Oversee budgets, expenditures, research and development appropriations, and return on-investment and profit-loss projections
  • Input into the development of offline and online products and propositions to: - Drive growth globally, ensuring relevance and practicality in the UK. - Build strong local products and propositions.
  • Instill a high-performance, collaborative culture and provide energy, leadership and support to direct reports across UK and their teams.
  • Manage and retain a strong team of motivated specialists who are passionate about delivering performance.
  • Lead and mentor the UK team and engage with customers at the highest level, to ensure profitable growth.

Your Qualities

  • Extensive management experience preferably from sales and marketing within car rental, wider automotive, travel and hospitality or retail service sectors.
  • B2B and B2C experience with a track record of driving significant growth.
