Claims Specialist (HQ)

As a Claims Specialist you will be responsible for handling all at fault- claims in the Claims Department. Serving as the initial point of contact for calls to the Claim Department; obtaining necessary information accurately and efficiently, responding to inquiries and resolving disputes. Must be familiar with Microsoft office and enjoy learning new software, possess problem-solving skills, and demonstrate critical thinking. Must have the ability and willingness to adapt to change, be a team player, meet and exceed deadlines all while working in a demanding fast-paced environment.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Collect all necessary documents and information in relation to damage files
  • Review and ensure accuracy of all documentation associated with damage files
  • Contact at-fault individual(s) to attempt to collect on damages to Sixt vehicles
  • Properly bill at-fault individual (s) for all applicable fees (physical damage, towing, storage charges, administration fees, loss of use, diminish value of vehicles, etc.)
  • Handle billing disputes from individuals and insurance carriers
  • Handle disputes from attorneys
  • Resolve and negotiate damage recovery via phone, email, and other means of communication
  • Process damage file payments
  • Process incoming and outgoing emails and telephone calls
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Your Qualities

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must have customer service related experience
  • Experience in claims, collections, or similar field helpful, but not required.
  • Strong independent decision-making skills
  • Ability to prioritize various requests and handle changing priorities
  • Excellent work ethic; willing to take on multiple tasks
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Dependable, cooperative, and willing to assist others
  • Knowledge of MS Office software Word and Excel
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
  • Proficiency in English
  • Ability to communicate in other languages (French, Portuguese, Spanish, German, etc.) is a plus.
