The Network Administrator provides end-user support and troubleshooting for personnel. This person is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the local area network hardware, as well as for O365, e-mail, and firewall administration. This position works with the IT Director on the implementation of new technologies. They will play a role in coordinating upgrade initiatives, including assisting the IT Director with facilitating activities such as upgrading systems with the latest versions of software, the rollout of new hardware, and training.
The Network Administrator is responsible for the following but not limited to:
Establishes network specifications by conferring with Stakeholders in Germany
Address outages immediately as they happen even if after hours support is required.
Participate on the on call rotation for emergency outages.
Provide escalation support to IT Service Desk.
Analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements
Designing router administration - including interface configuration and routing protocols.
Continuously monitor & analyzes network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, latency, etc
planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of all networking equipment
responsible for the configuration, maintenance and updating for all firewalls
Responds in a timely fashion to stakeholders’ needs, concerns and general systems issues.
Provides first-line support for all software and network hardware.
Setup users system access as needed
Responsible for leading new branch openings, reopening, closures and relocations from an IT responsibility.
Ensures equipment needed for any projects are ordered to meet critical deadlines
Ensures all deadlines given by the business are met by collaborating with various departments to accomplish the business goals.
Responsible for tracking and reporting network outages and critical system failures
Reconciles user system access by providing weekly audit checks
Manages technical resources working onsite, providing vendors with all the information needed to assist in supporting the network
Diagnoses and resolves technical problems
Prevent problem escalation and provides solution tracking.
Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation
Responsible for maintaining documentation for network configuration, port configuration, policies/protocols, ISP information, topology, system mapping etc.
Performs day-to-day maintenance of network servers (backups, administration, hardware maintenance).
Maintains logs for software and firmware updates, service contracts, support contracts, and passwords
Monitor and update antivirus software, review and remove threats when detected
Trains, instructs, and educates individuals on the team
Works with IT Director in designing technical systems and architecture.
Handles multiple project responsibilities simultaneously
Prioritize work and resolve technical emergencies as they may occur.
Protects the organization by keeping information confidential
Performs additional tasks as assigned by Director
Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written
Must be able to function under high stress situations
