Director of Repairs & Maintenance

The Director of Repair & Maintenance oversees minimizing maintenance-related out-of-service days and maintenance-related expenses for Sixt rent a car’s rental fleet, both at a HQ level as well as in the field.

The selected candidate will quickly master the nuances of Sixt Rent a Car, LLC’s strategic business operations as well as the challenges and opportunities in the sector. This person must have sound business sense and be equally adept at marketplace assessments, developing business case and plans of action. Superior judgment, three-dimensional analytical abilities, a collegial approach to problem-solving, and a polished, diplomatic presentation style are all critical to this role.

What you’ll do to be Sixt-cessful:

  • Proactively work with internal and external resources to implement facility upgrades
  • Establish controlling mechanisms and present results and performance metrics to senior leadership
  • Initiate process improvements at fleet hub locations and turnback operations
  • Reduce maintenance and reconditioning-related cost
  • Effectively oversee the turnback team
  • Continuously monitor report key metrics to senior management
  • Minimize out-of-service percentage
  • Reduce maintenance-related cost
  • Oversee Turnback and Maintenace teams
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • 3+ years of experience in fleet maintenance
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure
  • Familiarity and detailed knowledge of vehicle maintenance, collision repair, systems, components and design
  • Must possess excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills
  • Ability to influence and make decisions by applying independent judgment
  • Competency in various computer applications systems including Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including day and/or evening hours
  • Must be willing to travel up to 30%
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
