Incident Manager (IT)

We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join SIXT’s Major Incident Management team as an Incident Manager (m/f/d). This role is the central point of contact in case of outages or system degradations and in charge of communication and coordination to help solving the incident fast, effective and efficient. The ideal candidate determines the cause in cooperation with the engineers in order to prevent similar incidents in the future. 

What you’ll do? – Perform as smoothly as our cars:

  • You define processes, standards and guidelines for major incident and problem management.

  • You support the IT teams in proactively identifying, analysing, prioritising and documenting incidents, primarily at 3rd level and increasing the overall quality of service by creating best practices. 

  • You advise the business teams on the application of methodical techniques of root cause analysis.

  • You act as the single point of contact for escalation management and interacting with relevant stakeholders (Ex: business departments or test, change and release management).

  • If required, you will have a supporting role in security incident or crisis management.

What do you need to succeed? – Your willingness to accelerate:

  • Bachelor's/master’s Degree in Computer Science or similar discipline.
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Good technical understanding of IT solutions (client/server systems, cloud-based solutions, IP and network infrastructure).

  • Good knowledge of ServiceNow as well as practical experience in the ITIL incident and problem management processes.

  • Willingness to work shifts and to participate in on-call duties outside office hours.

  • Very good English communication skills.
