Manager, Vehicle Service Operations

As member of the Operations Excellence department, the Manager, Vehicle Service Operations plays an important role in the day-to-day management of external vehicle service vendors. In addition, this person will oversee the vendors that provide cleaning equipment and materials at Sixt’s rental locations in North America.


  • Coordinate the onboarding, implementation, and ongoing support of vehicle service vendors according to existing checklists and onboarding plans
  • Ensure necessary vendor paperwork and insurance certificates are always on-file and up-to-date
  • Create and circulate reports regarding vendor performance to Sixt operations management, consolidate responses and ensure necessary follow-ups
  • Participate in monthly reviews of cleaning quality, production rate and transaction cost of external vendors, and follow-up on defined action items
  • Coordinate RFPs and other sourcing events in conjunction with Sixt’s Procurement Department
  • Ensure a focus on cost reduction and continuous improvement
  • Provide regular updates to senior management
  • Answer day-to-day questions by vendors and operations management relating to service standards and other requirements
  • Manage and maintain the set up of hardware and software tools used for vehicle service by vendors and Sixt employees at rental locations
  • Travel to Sixt locations throughout North America (~25% of time).

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (business, logistics, or supply chain management preferred)
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Lean Management, Continuous Improvement a plus
  • Ability to build rapport with employees, vendors and other stakeholders
  • Ability to deal with ambiguous situations
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications, particularly strong Excel skills
  • Must have the ability to hit the ground running, being a team player with good presentation skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.

Global operations development is the central interface between the global SIXT station network and the SIXT campus in Pullach near Munich. The team's aim is to inspire customers by continuously identifying potential improvements and sustainably increasing efficiency of the rental process. Optimisation potential in the station network is identified through targeted analysis, benchmarking, and best practice exchanges, and implemented in cross-departmental and international projects.
